Something that I have been wondering is whether someone who hasn’t gone to art school or undergone years of foundation training be considered an artist.
Personally, I think the essence of good art is that it should represent or express a distinctive way of viewing the world from the artist point of view. Certain skills are required to achieve this. However, skills and techniques are only tools but not the essence.
